John Whitaker
It would not be HOYS without a win for John Whitaker and the crowd's
perennial favourite did not disappoint in Saturday's Xerox
Special Event Services Cup. Although this was a speed class, the
course proved tough enough, and only four could answer every question.
John did not push Julia Lee's Hugo Du Heup, but their round was still
good enough to beat William Funnell on Cortaflex Amber Du Montois.
"I missed an early turn and then concentrated on going clear, but Hugo's a
naturally fast horse", said John. "I was pleased with him because he didn't
have the chance to do any indoor shows before coming here and he's adapted
quickly".

Congratulations go out to Ellis who finished third in the Junior Newcomers on
'They Think Its All Over II', and to Amy, who, despite an unlucky four faults,
finished in a good position on '2 Authentic II' in the same event.
